Julie Matheson’s party for Western Australia will shut down the #Quangos run by Double Agents and Phoneys.
Quango One – the slush fund for the WA Planning Commission.
The Metro Regional Improvements Tax (MRIT) is a land tax loading which is paid into the slush fund of the WA Planning Commission (WAPC).
The WAPC is run by Double Agents and Phoneys. The slush fund has been used for the benefit of their mates down at Mangles Bay and other areas.
WA has just come out of the biggest mining and construction boom in our history and what do we have to show for it?
We are shutting down Quango One – the MRIT, saving the taxpayer money and any false hope that these fools will provide us with more public open space and infrastructure.
The MRIT was introduced in 1959 as part of a strategic plan to buy public land as reserves for public open space and infrastructure.
In 2007, the WAPC made a case to keep the MRIT slush fund claiming urban property owners will obtain the main benefit from development of the land for public use.
After nearly 10 years of collecting millions in land tax, Perth Metro area doesn’t have:
- an Ellenbrook rail line;
- a South Perth railway station;
- any light rail; and
- more public open space.
